Concert Review: A Physical Education In Music

Tegan and Sara @ The Egyptian Room at Old National Centre in Indianapolis on May 10th, 2014 — “They may have been performing since they were teenagers, but they still look like they’re enjoying this as much as this audience…who are taking this time to dance and sing the night away.”

Concert Review: All You Need Is Love (And Music)

Christina Perri @ Deluxe at Old National Centre in Indianapolis on April 26th, 2014 — “From a distance, this seems like your typical concert fare…but the way she carried herself made her relatable, and thus created a better connection between herself and the audience.”

Concert Review: Intensity in the Circle City

Chiodos @ The Irving Theater in Indianapolis on April 4th, 2014 — “…their energetic stage presence matches their blend of post-hardcore…and they do what they do very well, something the crowd is definitely noticing.”

Concert Review: Believe The Rumours

Grouplove @ The Egyptian Room in Indianapolis on March 21st, 2014 — “For the next hour or so, it’s an endless barrage of strobes and flashing lights, boundless energy from the band that perfectly complimented their own blend of catchy rock/pop…”

Concert Review: My Body Tells Me To Dance

Young The Giant @ The Egyptian Room in Indianapolis on March 10th, 2014 — Seeing as their latest effort Mind Over Matter came out a few months ago, there were plenty of songs from said record such as “Paralysis” and “It’s About Time,” as well as a few other familiar favorites from their debut, all of which embody Young the Giant’s wonderfully energetic and catchy hooks and melodies. All the while, the crowd is just eating everything up, dancing and jumping around to their heart’s content….

Concert Review: Drunken Lullabies For a Thirsty World

Flogging Molly @ The Egyptian Room in Indianapolis on March 8th, 2014 — I’ve been a fan of Flogging Molly for years, and they’ve always been one of my favorite live bands. While I’ve never been big on celebrating St. Paddy’s Day, but this tour has always been a nice way to make up for it. Having been to two previous incarnations of it, can it live up to expectations? Let’s find out.

WARMfest Day 2: Take 2

WARMfest @ Broad Ripple Park in Indianapolis — Okay, so Day 1 was a literal wash, and despite my disappointment, it was ultimately their call to make, and in the end, I believe they did make the right one. Now it’s a new day, the slate is clean, and I’m determined to make this WARMfest experience something to remember (for better, not for worse).

WARMfest Day 1: WETfest

WARMfest @ Broad Ripple Park in Indianapolis — For the first time ever, Indianapolis played host to the White River Arts and Music Festival – or “WARMfest,” where artists on both the local and national levels would congregate to Broad Ripple Park for a celebration of all things, well, art and music.

Concert Review: Do You Feel Like Frampton Does?

Peter Frampton & Robert Cray @ The Lawn at White River State Park in Indianapolis — Frampton played favorites, such as “Baby, I Love Your Way” and “(I’ll Give You) Money, the latter of which was highlighted by a brilliant guitar solo by his young-gun second guitar player Adam Lester. Peter Frampton got all the credit until this moment we saw what his second-in-command was packing.
