Ray LaMontagne
It’s a story about doing what you love at all costs; LaMontagne was listening to Stephen Still’s ‘Manassas’ when he got the spark to quit his job and live the life as a musician. He supported that first year touring with a part-time job as a tutor. That same summer of ’99 he recorded 10 songs for a demo album that was sent to various local music venues including Maine’s Oddfellow Theater, where he was hired as an opening act for John Gorka and Jonathan Edwards.
Five years later, his first album ‘Trouble’ debuted with over half-a-million sales worldwide.
