Chances are you’ve heard at least one GROUPLOVE song even if you think you don’t know who they are. Their first single “Colours” was the iTunes free download for a week in September of 2011, reached 12 on the Billboard Modern Rock charts and was even featured in several massively popular sports games like Madden NFL 12, FIFA 12, and MLB 2K12.
But they didn’t stop there. Their second single “Tongue Tied” was in an iPod Touch commercial, was featured in the hit television show Geel, and after 26 consecutive weeks on the Modern Rock chart, it came to rest in the coveted #1 spot in June 2012. Said single has been RIAA certified Platinum in the U.S.
Their third single “Itchin’ on a Photograph” also hit the top 10. You know what they say… Anyone can write a hit song. But to do it over and over again? That’s something truly special.
